IDB hails €300m boost for dairy sector

THE €300 million investment package for the dairy industry, announced last week by Agriculture and Food Minister Mary Coughlan, has been welcomed by the Irish Dairy Board (IDB).

It said the package has given the industry a unique opportunity to reconfigure itself to tackle the market challenges ahead.

The IDB pointed out that the European Union dairy sector is going through major change with the dismantling of the Common Agricultural Policy.
