This gain was despite a relatively slow day for news-flow. The Dublin exchange closed up 4.51 points to finish at 7,394.64.
The financial sector gained with sector principals AIB gaining 10c to close at €18.50, Bank of Ireland was down 3c to €13.60 while Anglo Irish bank dropped 1c to €11.44
