FG warns grant costings out of date

FINE Gael claimed yesterday the Department of Agriculture and Food is using out-of-date costings in relation to grant rates to control farm waste.

Party spokesman Denis Naughten TD said each eligible farmer could lose up to €15,000 in grant aid as a result.

He said the department is working off construction costings from 2004. But the cost of building materials has rocketed since then.
