THE ISEQ index lost some of the ground gained on the previous two days yesterday closing down 89.98 at 7,380.85.

In the financial sector, AIB shed 28c to close at €18.37 while Bank of Ireland climbed 8c to €13.78 after announcing a strong performance for the first quarter of this year at it AGM. Irish Life & Permanent slipped 25c to €17.55 while Anglo Irish added 3c to €11.33.

Construction giant CRH lost 69c to €25.10 as negative news flow from the US continues to affect the company. Grafton dipped 10c to €9.80 and Kingspan weakened 45c to €13.05.
