Advertising spending up 10%

ADVERTISING spending for May hit €151 million, according to eMedia Weekly. It saw an increase of €9m on April 2006 and an increase of €18m or 14% from May 2005.

Overall money spent on ads for the first six months of this year is at €670m. This is up 10% from the same period last year when it was at €609m.

Print media is up 7.3% to €436m; TV adverts rose by nearly 13% to €122m; and outdoor adverts rose 14.8% to €54m. Radio gained nearly 14% to €49m and cinema is up 21.8% €3m. Internet spending for January-May 2006 was recorded at €4.8m.
