The Irish exchange closed 51.93 points higher at 7649.90.
In the financial sector AIB climbed 17c to €18.94 while Bank of Ireland ended 18c higher at €13.95. Irish Life & Permanent added 7c to €18.19 while Anglo-Irish bucked the trend easing back 8c to €11.65.
