Power appointed to Agri Aware board

AGRI AWARE announced yesterday that Jim Power, Friends First group chief economist has been appointed to its board of directors. Mr Power writes a regular column for the Irish Examiner.

Agri Aware chairwoman Mairead Lavery said Mr Power brings a broad understanding of farming and consumer issues. Mr Power is from a farming background in Waterford.

“The farming, agricultural and food industry is playing an important role in the economy. Not only is it providing reasonably priced, safe, quality food, it is sustaining thousands of jobs and maintaining economic activity in rural areas,” he said.
