AFTER a sluggish start to the day the Irish market bounced back to close marginally stronger at 5315.29, 1.28 points in the black.

Again the banks being the most prosperous in what was mostly a quiet day’s trading.

In general, investors were erring on the side of caution with minimal activity in all sectors. Bank of Ireland was the main mover adding 17c to close at €10.68 with over 2 million shares changing hands. AIB followed suit with a gain of 7c to €12.32.
