Financials lead advance by shares

SHARES in Dublin nudged ahead yesterday, led by the main financials. With little newsflow to boost activity the ISEQ index finished trading 7.02 points stronger at 5349.20.

Financials lead advance by shares

Allied Irish Bank saw more than 2.67 million shares change hands and closed 6c firmer at €12.84. Bank of Ireland rose 6c to finish at €10.90, while Anglo Irish Bank strengthened to €13.00.

Ryanair was up 9c to €4.37. CRH advanced 17c to €18.85, while Grafton Group and Kingspan added 1c and 2c, respectively. Readymix fell 6c to €1.46. Elan closed 20c lighter at €15.90, while C&C slipped to €2.65.
