Intel appoints new chief executive
Mr Otellini, a 30-year Intel veteran, who made his name overseeing the introduction of the Pentium processor in 1993, will replace Craig Barrett in May.
Barrett, having shepherded Intel’s expansion through the late 1990s, steps aside as Intel struggles with sliding demand that has left the company burdened with a record stockpile of chips.
