ALMOST half of Irish directors admit that agreements reached at board level are not being followed through, a global study reveals.

International management expert Prof Andrew Kakabadse, who conducted interviews with 7,000 directors in 12 countries, said their role was more demanding than ever but many were ill-prepared.

While Ireland scored badly in adhering to boardroom decisions, the United States was not far behind at just under 40%.
