ISEQ strength reflects European mood

IRISH shares were taking their cue from the main European bourses, seeing the ISEQ add 2.6 points to close at 5385.38. Early trading in the US saw crude oil prices stabilise at the $47 a barrel level.

ISEQ strength reflects European mood

The financials led the charge with AIB gaining 3c to finish at €12.86 with more interest in the bank than Friday's low levels. Bank of Ireland edged forward 9c to €10.83. Anglo also showed strength on €13.47, up 7c.

The rising oil price is still causing concern to Ryanair, with a 5c drop to no-frills airline 4.15 on the day.
