Your last chance to collect a Vermeer
This evening in London, Sotheby’s Holdings Inc will offer for sale the delicate “Young Woman Seated at the Virginals” from about 1670.
The painting, being sold by the heirs of the Belgian collector Frederic Rolin, measures just 10 inches by 8 inches. Apart from the majestic “Music Lesson,” which belongs to Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, this is the last of the 35 generally accepted Vermeers in private hands.
