Enterprise Minister Micheál Martin should intervene immediately to ban the practice of different insurance premia being charged to customers through different channels of distribution, according to Fine Gael enterprise spokesman Phil Hogan.

“It is unacceptable that a customer who buys a motor or household insurance product online can pay up to 20% less than the same product being purchased through an insurance broker.

“Ireland’s national competitiveness requires lower insurance rates,” he said.
