FINANCE Minister Brian Cowen has confirmed that he is reviewing the future of the betting levy.

Mr Cowen has set up a working group to consider changing the 2% levy into a tax on bookies’ gross profits.

This is money left after bookies pay out on winning bets and was introduced in Britain a number of years ago.
