Bullish week ends on high note

THE Dublin market ended the week in positive territory following a bullish week's trading, with the ISEQ index edging 21.58 points higher at 5557.08.

The market has seen a marked return of buyers, with investors snapping up the market heavyweights. AIB and Bank of Ireland both posted gains, up at €13.26 and €11.29 respectively. Anglo-Irish firmed 10c to €14.35 while Irish Life and Permanent was steady at €12.45.

Shares in Elan traded 37c higher following Thursday's fall and Warner Chilcott eased 8c to €9.02. In the construction sector CRH were the main laggards, down 13c to €19.50. Kingspan traded 14c higher at €5.16. Elsewhere budget carrier Ryanair hit par at €4.31, while in the food sector Kerry edged 5c to €17.05.
