World economic boom, says economist

GLOBAL economic conditions have or are showing significant improvement, even if Europe has proved to be the "laggard" of the bunch, according to the Bank of Ireland.

Chief economist Dan McLaughlin says the recovery is quite impressive.

The term "boom" can reasonably be used to describe current global economic conditions, he said. All areas, from Japan, China to the US and even Europe are showing very definite growth signs, he says.
