Calls for action after 'damp squib' report

THE small and medium- sized business organisation has expressed its disappointment at the report calling it a "damp squib" and a total let-off for the country's biggest bank.

It has called for IFSRA to show some real teeth by carrying out an in-depth investigation of the whole banking sector to expose overcharging and other customer abuses. Chief executive Mark Fielding said the report was ineffectual.

THE finance union said it is important that the viewpoints in the report are not left to gather dust on the shelves of banking boardrooms but are enthusiastically implemented not just in AIB but across the financial services sector.
