The body representing tax advisers has called on taxpayers to make the most of the tax breaks available for donating to charity, in light of the ongoing Asian disaster appeal.

The value of a donation can be significantly boosted by allowing the receiving charity to claim special tax relief. PAYE taxpayers should complete form CHY2, which is available at www.revenue.ie, and send it to their chosen charity when making their donation.
