Unemployment 'set to drop to 4.2%'

UNEMPLOYMENT is set to fall to 4.2% next year from its already historic low of 4.4%, a report from Goodbody Stockbrokers said yesterday.

However, Goodbody, who are part of the AIB group, forecasts that oil price concerns could push inflation up to 2.6% this year compared with earlier forecasts of 1.9%.

But overall, the report is bullish on the economy.
