Concern for future of Irish Biscuits

SIPTU said the possible sale of Irish Biscuits by French parent Groupe Danone would have “devastating” consequences for the Tallaght plant’s workers and their families.

SIPTU food branch official Brendan Carr said Tallaght was still feeling the effects of the closure of Packard Electric and the loss of 800 jobs.

“The loss of another 400 jobs does not bear thinking about,” said Mr Carr.
