Top companies’ IT security ineffective

Ireland’s top businesses do not have the means to assess whether the security solutions they have in place are protecting their organisations.

Research by Computer Associates says 70% of organisations have no central function for managing or reporting on the effectiveness of security tools.

Growing instances of virus attacks, internal breaches of security, vulnerabilities and hacking threats are causing the management and ownership of IT to become a central rather than departmental function.
