Banks main losers as market slips

THE ISEQ traded in the red throughout the day yesterday, mirroring declines among European markets. The index, slipped 10.86 points to finish at 6377.37.

Bank of Ireland fell 39c to €12.70, while Anglo Irish Bank gave up 8c to €9.92. AIB remained steady at €17.08 ahead of today's trading statement, while Irish Life & Permanent lost 13c.

DCC announced that it is to acquire Pilton Company, a distributor of DVDs, videos and computer games in Ireland. DCC closed at €16.39, 4c higher.
