Waste management guide for businesses

A GUIDE on waste management to help small business was launched yesterday by business employer group IBEC and AIB Bank.

Waste Management - A Practical Guide for Small Business was produced by AIB in association with IBEC, and with the assistance of the Irish Waste Management Association.

The guide outlines the key considerations concerning waste management, providing practical information on what constitutes waste, the legislation which governs waste management in Ireland and how to more effectively manage waste.

Caroline Tully, Business Strategy, AIB Bank said waste was a serious issue for small business. “As businesses have ultimate responsibility for waste they produce (whether it is managed on-site or moved off-site for further management) business owners/managers have an obligation to be aware of and to meet the requirements of waste legislation.”
