Elan shares keep soaring

SHARES in pharmaceutical company Elan continued their unexpected surge yesterday as they added almost 8% following a 19% hike on Wednesday.

The company said it had “no information” to explain the sharp improvement in the share price in recent days.

Analysts said this week’s hikes represented a recovery of the ground lost by Elan in the last six weeks. The share price lost 30% in the period between mid-July and the beginning of this week.
