FIVE hundred new jobs are expected to be created by a €4.7m all-Ireland sales and marketing initiative targeting a €100m increase in sales for small and medium sized companies.

Trade and Commerce Minister Michael Ahern yesterday launched the InterTradeIreland Acumen programme at a reception in Cork hosted by the city’s Lord Mayor, Cllr Colm Burke.

Minister Ahern said: “InterTradeIreland Acumen will provide two forms of financial assistance under the programme. The first will assist the cost of consultancy-based support, and the second will assist with the cost of salary support for a dedicated marketing or salesperson, subject to certain limits.
