INVESTORS are thinking twice about spending thousands on houses for the rental market, a leading economist said yesterday.

A new report out yesterday revealed only one-in-10 homes on the Irish property market is destined for rental, compared to one in five earlier this year.

Rossa White, economist with Davy stockbrokers, said there were signs investors were moving away from buy-to-let schemes to more secure investments with the major banks.
