IRISH visitors to the US this summer will reap the immediate rewards of the strong euro.

For the first time since early 2000, 1 euro is worth just over $1, which will add to the spending power of anyone travelling to America.

Economists have welcomed the rise of the euro and the many positive aspects of parity.
