Market dips as financials stay solid

THE Irish index dipped yesterday while the financial sector held firm. The ISEQ fell 37.49 points to 6785.59.

Market dips as financials stay solid

The banking stocks traded in positive territory with modest volume. AIB gained 12c to €16.27 ahead of end of year results to be announced next week. Bank of Ireland also saw an increase, up 3c to €12.80. The story was the same in the second line with Irish Life and Permanent up 10c to e14.80. On the losing side, Anglo slipped 5c to €20.25.

A lacklustre performance in construction left CRH 24c lighter at €21.82 while Grafton Group and Kingspan followed the trend, down 10c and 13c. McInerney strengthened 15c to €7.75.
