ISEQ losses buck continental trend

WITH markets on the continent gaining yesterday it was a different story in Dublin. The ISEQ index slipped under the 4000 level to close 1.02% off at 3993.38.

The financials were lower with AIB off 30c at €12.70 and Bank of Ireland down 31c to €9.87. Anglo Irish Bank eased 5c to €6.35 while Irish Life and Permanent gave up 9c to €9.59. Overall food stocks were steady.

Kerry Group added a cent to 12.10 as Fyffes and Glanbia were unchanged at €1.28 and €1.25 respectively. Galen gained 33c to €5.88, while Elan fell 10c to €2.70.
