Farmers urged to join tree scheme

A major promotional campaign aimed at encouraging landowners to plant trees is to be launched shortly.

Newly-restored Minister of State at the Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources John Browne announced the move at Coillte’s annual management conference in Tullow, Co Carlow.

“I hope that a wide-ranging campaign will bring the message to a wider audience, generate more interest and ultimately result in more farmers realising the benefits of planting trees,” he said.
