11,000 people contact IFSRA helpline

THE Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority (IFSRA) said 11,000 people have contacted the body’s consumer helpline since it was set up last May.

IFSRA says it has handled over 2,500 specific issues raised by consumers in relation to their dealings with financial services providers and almost all of these were resolved.

It has authorised 665 new financial services firms and funds, received and analysed almost 51,000 returns from the firms it regulates and conducted 437 review meetings or on-site inspections.
