IRISH applicants have been slow in showing initial interest in registering for new dot.eu website domain names.

According to figures published by the Irish-accredited registrar, EU internet, of the 153,000 made since the launch of the new domain name in December, only 1,600 - or 1.02% - were Irish-based applicants. Germany led the way with 35%.
