BoI bid sparks further falls

THE frosty response to Bank of Ireland’s approach for Abbey National dragged the ISEQ index lower again yesterday to 3620.04, a drop of 113.84 points.

Bank of Ireland continued to weaken with a 30c fall to 8.70. Shares in the bank have fallen 14% this week.

Allied Irish Bank fell 35c to 11.95 and Anglo Irish Bank slid 42c to 5.75. Irish Life and Permanent was also down at 10.40, a fall of 60c.
