McCreevy urged push directive

THE American Chamber of Commerce in Ireland has called on EU internal markets commissioner Charlie McCreevy to ensure that the proposed EU directive on services is implemented in full.

Chamber chief executive Joanne Richardson said the services market had not yet been fully exploited because of obstacles that stood in the way within the EU.

“The implementation of the services directive would enable both consumers and producers to take full advantage of the huge opportunities which would be presented,” she said.
