THE European Union must become as agile economically and politically as the US to take advantage of increasing globalisation.

This was the warning Institute of European Affairs director general Alan Dukes gave to Cork business people yesterday.

The US is currently the prime beneficiary of globalisation, Mr Dukes told the Cork Chamber of Commerce business breakfast in association with the Irish Examiner.
