French stocks up

FRENCH stocks including France Telecom SA gained yesterday. Michelin & Cie. fell after targeting a 2006 operating margin that will be about the same as last year.

The CAC 40 Index gained 3.98, or 0.1%, to 4961.34 in Paris, as the same number of shares rose as fell. The SBF 120 Index added less than 0.1%.

France Telecom gained 56 cents, or 3%, to €19.16.
