Market maintains strong advance

THE ISEQ index climbed yesterday on the back of strong gains in Elan and Paddy Power. The Dublin Exchange rose 44.6 points to 7104.92.

The financial sector dipped slightly with AIB falling 15to €17.90 and Anglo Irish also falling 10c to €11.80. Bank of Ireland gained 14 to €13.70.

In construction, CRH lost ground, down 10c to €23.40 while Kingspan also shed 1c to €10.64. Grafton closed 2c higher at €8.65.
