THE Irish Bank Officials Association (IBOA) — the finance sector union — is demanding a 10% minimum increase in private sector pay over the next two years.

The union has called for the issue of pay levels in the private sector to be made a priority when talks on a new National Wage Agreement start later this week.

The IBOA is to insist on the minimum increase over the next two years as well as the inclusion of a local bargaining clause, a meeting of the union's officer board agreed at the weekend.
