Kerry Group closes down desserts unit

KERRY GROUP is to close its Platters Foods salads and desserts manufacturing unit in Sligo, which it took over in 2001.

Production will be transferred to Kerry’s new €40 million facility at the Poppintree Industrial Estate in north Dublin. It is not yet certain if the move will result in job losses, but the 59 Platters employees will be offered a transfer to Dublin or other operations within the Kerry Group.
