Financials lead market lower

THE ISEQ Index of shares fell yesterday, closing down 20.28 points to 4274.27.

Financials lead market lower

The financial sector did badly. Allied Irish Bank slipped for consecutive days, closing down 0.56% to €14.10. Bank of Ireland and Anglo Irish Bank also finished in the red, easing 1.52% and 1.92% to €11.01 and €7.15 respectively. Irish Life & Permanent rose 0.58% to €10.33.

Elsewhere, Ryanair fell 1.67% to €5.90 to close a session under €6.00 for the first time since the 3rd of March. Galen advanced 2.54% to €6.87.
