RECRUITMENT activity at managerial level was up 24% in the second quarter of the year, according to figures released yesterday by the Irish Management Institute (IMI).

The management think-tank said almost 1,700 manager's jobs were advertised between April and June. Two thirds of these were in the private sector.

The IMI said the findings supported recent upbeat forecasts on the Irish economy and they provided evidence of growth in employment.
