ANGLO Irish Bank is attempting to shake up the savings market by increasing interest rates on short notice accounts.

Anglo Irish Bank to shake up savings

Anglo yesterday increased the rate of interest on its 30-day notice account to 3% from 2.65%. The increase is 0.1% more than the recent increase in European Central Bank interest rates.

The bank, best known for business lending and wealth management services its high roller clients, said the increased rate is open to all new and existing savers who deposit just €1,000 in a 30-day notice account.
