Barroso urges action on EU growth

EUROPE will not be able to pay pensions, social welfare and health costs if it does not put more people to work and increase economic growth.

This was the stark message from the president of the European Commission yesterday.

Jose Manuel Barroso launched a new strategy to boost growth and jobs in the EU’s ailing economy but warned the member states, “You must come on board.”
