FG criticise grants to regional airports

FINE GAEL have criticised the €6 million funding grant for the country’s six regional airports as too little.

The party’s transport spokeswoman, Olivia Mitchell, said the money would not meet the capital expansion plans of the airports.

“A meagre e6m to be divided amongst six regional airports offers little opportunity to capitalise on their potential to act as regional engines of economic and tourism growth and as a counterbalance to the dominance of Dublin,” Ms Deputy Mitchell said.
