GERMANY’S benchmark DAX Index rose for a 12th day, its longest streak in more than eight years.

The DAX climbed 37.15, or 0.8%, to 4892.50. The measure reached the highest since May 2002 and extended the gain in July to 6.7%.

DaimlerChrysler’s shares jumped after the carmaker said chief executive Juergen Schrempp will leave.
