Tara workers vote for pay proposals

Workers at Europe’s biggest zinc mine have voted overwhelmingly in favour of proposals on pay and conditions - lifting the distant threat of a strike at Tara mines, the main union there said on Thursday.

A three-day strike in June at the mine which is owned by Sweden’s Boliden saw workers laid off and force majeure declared on concentrate shipments.
