Euro hits new high against dollar

THE euro climbed to more than $1.22 yesterday as investors were unsettled by weaker-than-expected jobs data for November, published on Friday.

For the seventh consecutive day, the euro hit new highs against the dollar and even sceptics say the surge still has a way to go.

Standing in the way of a dollar recovery is prevailing uncertainty about economic recovery.
