Jobs ads increase 14% in April

THE number of jobs advertised in Irish national newspapers rose by 14% in April indicating a sustained rise in employment for the year.

The Bank of Ireland Job Index, which tracks the labour market, found 15,519 positions were advertised in April, a 14% rise on the figure recorded last year.

The bank said the labour market remained buoyant and the trend was for upward growth.
