OUR love affair with property continues to form the core backdrop to the economic forecasts making it into the public domain.

In its latest economic review, the Central Bank says fallout from the continuing “aggressive contraction” in the level of fixed capital formation continues to delay the recovery in domestic demand.

Official figures show a 34.95% contraction in the construction and building sector in 2009.
